Ingredients
1/2 cup peanut butter (smooth or crunchy)
1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
1 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup granulated sugar
1 large egg
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 cup chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease or line an 8x8-inch baking pan with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, mix together the peanut butter, butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until smooth and creamy.
- Add in the egg and vanilla extract, and beat until fully incorporated.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing until combined.
- Stir in the chocolate chips.
- Spread the cookie dough evenly in the prepared baking pan, pressing it down gently.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Let the bars cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
