Description

These Honey Soy Baked Chicken Thighs are a perfect balance of sweet and savory, with the honey adding a rich, sticky glaze and the soy sauce providing a depth of flavor. The thighs are tender and juicy, with crispy edges, making it a satisfying dish that’s both easy to prepare and packed with flavor.

Ingredients

4 bone-in, skin-on chicken thighs

3 tablespoons honey

3 tablespoons soy sauce

2 tablespoons olive oil

1 tablespoon rice vinegar (or white vinegar)

2 garlic cloves, minced

1 teaspoon ginger, grated

½ teaspoon sesame oil (optional)

1 teaspoon sesame seeds (optional, for garnish)

Chopped green onions (for garnish)

Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven: Set your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Prepare the marinade: In a small bowl, mix together honey, soy sauce, olive oil, rice vinegar, minced garlic, ginger, and sesame oil. Whisk until the honey is dissolved and the mixture is smooth.
  3. Marinate the chicken: Season the chicken thighs with salt and pepper. Place them in a resealable bag or a bowl and pour the marinade over them. Let it marinate for at least 30 minutes (or up to 2 hours for more flavor).
  4. Bake the chicken: Place the marinated chicken thighs on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Pour any remaining marinade over the chicken. Bake for 35-40 minutes, or until the chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C) and the skin is crispy and golden.
  5. Garnish and serve: Remove from the oven and let the chicken rest for a few minutes. Sprinkle with sesame seeds and chopped green onions before serving.

Notes

  • For more flavor, marinate the chicken for up to 2 hours.
  • You can substitute rice vinegar with white vinegar if desired.
  • To ensure crispy skin, bake the chicken skin-side up.
  • Garnish with sesame seeds and green onions for added texture and flavor.
