Ingredients
Ingredients:
- 2 cups semisweet chocolate chips
- 1 cup dark chocolate chips
- 1 can (14 oz) sweetened condensed milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup caramel sauce, plus extra for drizzling
- 3/4 cup chopped pecans, divided
Instructions
Instructions:
- Prepare the Pan: Line an 8x8-inch baking dish with parchment paper, leaving some overhang for easy removal.
- Melt the Chocolate: In a microwave-safe bowl, combine the semisweet and dark chocolate chips with the sweetened condensed milk. Microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring in between, until smooth and melted (about 2-3 minutes total).
- Add Flavor: Stir in the vanilla extract and salt until fully combined.
- Layer the Fudge: Pour half of the chocolate mixture into the prepared pan, spreading it evenly.
- Add Caramel and Pecans: Drizzle the caramel sauce over the chocolate layer and sprinkle with half of the chopped pecans.
- Top and Refrigerate: Pour the remaining chocolate mixture over the caramel and pecans, spreading it to cover. Top with the remaining pecans and drizzle extra caramel over the top if desired.
- Set and Serve: Refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or until firm. Cut into squares and serve.
Notes
- If you prefer a nut-free version, replace the pecans with crispy rice or sunflower seeds.
- For a salted caramel twist, use salted caramel sauce and top with a sprinkle of sea salt.
- For an extra chocolate flavor, consider adding a tablespoon of cocoa powder to the melted chocolate mixture.
