Description

Indulge in the ultimate comfort food with crispy fries smothered in savory Philly cheesesteak ingredients like steak, peppers, onions, and melted cheese!

Ingredients

4 large russet potatoes, cut into fries

2 tablespoons olive oil

Salt and pepper, to taste

1 lb ribeye steak, thinly sliced

1 onion, thinly sliced

1 bell pepper, thinly sliced

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce

1 tablespoon soy sauce

1 cup provolone cheese, shredded

1 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded

Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C). Spread the cut fries onto a baking sheet, drizzle with olive oil, and season with salt and pepper. Bake for 25-30 minutes, flipping halfway through, until crispy and golden brown.
  2. While the fries are baking, heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the thinly sliced steak and cook for 2-3 minutes, stirring occasionally, until browned. Remove from the skillet and set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, add a little more oil if needed, and sauté the onions and bell peppers for 5-7 minutes until softened and caramelized.
  4. Add the minced garlic, Worcestershire sauce, and soy sauce, and cook for another 2-3 minutes, stirring until fragrant. Return the steak to the skillet and toss to combine.
  5. Once the fries are done, remove them from the oven and top with the steak, pepper, and onion mixture.
  6. Sprinkle with provolone and mozzarella cheese, then return to the oven for another 5 minutes or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  7. Remove from the oven and garnish with fresh parsley before serving.

Notes

  • For the best texture, make sure to flip the fries halfway for even crispiness.
  • Ribeye steak works best for this recipe, but sirloin can also be used as a substitute.
  • Feel free to experiment with different cheeses if desired.
