Description
Perfectly crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside, baked potatoes are a classic, easy-to-make side dish that can be topped with a variety of delicious toppings.
Ingredients
4 large russet potatoes
2 tablespoons olive oil
Salt, to taste
Black pepper, to taste
Optional toppings: sour cream, cheese, chives, butter, or any toppings of your choice
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C).
- Scrub the potatoes thoroughly under cold running water to remove any dirt.
- Pat the potatoes dry with a towel.
- Use a fork to poke several holes in each potato to allow steam to escape while baking.
- Rub each potato with olive oil, ensuring they are fully coated. Sprinkle generously with salt and pepper.
- Place the potatoes directly on the oven rack or a baking sheet. Bake for 45-60 minutes, or until the skin is crispy and the inside is tender when pierced with a fork.
- Remove from the oven and allow to cool slightly before slicing open.
- Top with your favorite toppings, and enjoy!
Notes
- Adjust cooking time based on the size of the potatoes: larger potatoes may take longer, while smaller ones may cook faster.
- For extra crispy skin, coat the potatoes with a bit more olive oil before baking.
