Description

Perfectly crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside, baked potatoes are a classic, easy-to-make side dish that can be topped with a variety of delicious toppings.


Ingredients

4 large russet potatoes

2 tablespoons olive oil

Salt, to taste

Black pepper, to taste

Optional toppings: sour cream, cheese, chives,  butter, or any toppings of your choice


Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C).
  2. Scrub the potatoes thoroughly under cold running water to remove any dirt.
  3. Pat the potatoes dry with a towel.
  4. Use a fork to poke several holes in each potato to allow steam to escape while baking.
  5. Rub each potato with olive oil, ensuring they are fully coated. Sprinkle generously with salt and pepper.
  6. Place the potatoes directly on the oven rack or a baking sheet. Bake for 45-60 minutes, or until the skin is crispy and the inside is tender when pierced with a fork.
  7. Remove from the oven and allow to cool slightly before slicing open.
  8. Top with your favorite toppings, and enjoy!

Notes

  • Adjust cooking time based on the size of the potatoes: larger potatoes may take longer, while smaller ones may cook faster.
  • For extra crispy skin, coat the potatoes with a bit more olive oil before baking.
