Ingredients
- 1 (15-ounce) container ricotta cheese
- 1 (8-ounce) package shredded mozzarella cheese, divided
- 1 (3-ounce) package Parmesan cheese
- 1 egg
- 2 teaspoons Italian seasoning
- 1 pound sausage
- ½ (26-ounce) jar marinara sauce
- 6 flatbreads
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Prepare cheese mixture – In a bowl, mix ricotta, ½ of the mozzarella, Parmesan, egg, and Italian seasoning.
- Cook sausage – In a skillet over medium heat, cook the sausage until no longer pink (about 5–10 minutes). Drain excess grease and mix in marinara sauce.
- Assemble flatbreads – Spread the cheese mixture over each flatbread, then top with the sausage-marinara mixture. Sprinkle the remaining mozzarella on top.
- Bake for 10–15 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Serve hot and enjoy!
Notes
- Swap ricotta for cottage cheese for a different texture.
- Use ground beef, turkey, or even a vegetarian option like mushrooms instead of sausage.
- Garlic naan or gluten-free flatbreads work as great alternatives.
- Spice it up with red pepper flakes or hot sauce.
