Description

This Lasagna Flatbread recipe is a quick and delicious twist on classic lasagna, combining creamy ricotta, savory sausage, gooey mozzarella, and rich marinara sauce on a crispy flatbread. Perfect for busy weeknights or casual gatherings, this dish delivers all the comforting flavors of traditional lasagna without the hassle of layering pasta.

Ingredients

  • 1 (15-ounce) container ricotta cheese
  • 1 (8-ounce) package shredded mozzarella cheese, divided
  • 1 (3-ounce) package Parmesan cheese
  • 1 egg
  • 2 teaspoons Italian seasoning
  • 1 pound sausage
  • ½ (26-ounce) jar marinara sauce
  • 6 flatbreads

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • Prepare cheese mixture – In a bowl, mix ricotta, ½ of the mozzarella, Parmesan, egg, and Italian seasoning.
  • Cook sausage – In a skillet over medium heat, cook the sausage until no longer pink (about 5–10 minutes). Drain excess grease and mix in marinara sauce.
  • Assemble flatbreads – Spread the cheese mixture over each flatbread, then top with the sausage-marinara mixture. Sprinkle the remaining mozzarella on top.
  • Bake for 10–15 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  • Serve hot and enjoy!

Notes

  • Swap ricotta for cottage cheese for a different texture.
  • Use ground beef, turkey, or even a vegetarian option like mushrooms instead of sausage.
  • Garlic naan or gluten-free flatbreads work as great alternatives.
  • Spice it up with red pepper flakes or hot sauce.
