- 1 cup buttermilk
- ½ cup hot fudge sauce, plus extra for drizzling
- Optional: ½ cup chocolate chips or chopped nuts
Instructions
- Preheat Oven – Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan and set it aside.
- Mix Dry Ingredients – In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
- Cream Butter & Sugar – In a large bowl, beat butter and sugar with an electric mixer until light and fluffy (about 3–4 minutes).
- Add Eggs & Vanilla – Beat in eggs, one at a time, followed by vanilla extract.
- Combine Wet & Dry – Alternately add dry ingredients and buttermilk to the butter mixture, starting and ending with the dry ingredients. Mix until just combined.
- Fold in Fudge – Gently fold in the hot fudge sauce (and chocolate chips or nuts if using). Do not overmix.
- Bake – Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan. Bake for 50–60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
