Made with cocoa powder, buttermilk, and a luscious hot fudge swirl, this easy-to-make dessert is perfect for any chocolate lover. Serve it warm with extra fudge drizzle for an irresistible treat!

Ingredients

  • ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • ½ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • ½ cup hot fudge sauce, plus extra for drizzling
  • Optional: ½ cup chocolate chips or chopped nuts

Instructions

  • Preheat Oven – Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan and set it aside.
  • Mix Dry Ingredients – In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
  • Cream Butter & Sugar – In a large bowl, beat butter and sugar with an electric mixer until light and fluffy (about 3–4 minutes).
  • Add Eggs & Vanilla – Beat in eggs, one at a time, followed by vanilla extract.
  • Combine Wet & Dry – Alternately add dry ingredients and buttermilk to the butter mixture, starting and ending with the dry ingredients. Mix until just combined.
  • Fold in Fudge – Gently fold in the hot fudge sauce (and chocolate chips or nuts if using). Do not overmix.
  • Bake – Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan. Bake for 50–60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  • Cool & Serve – Let the bread cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely. Drizzle with extra hot fudge sauce before serving, if desired.
