Description

These rich and indulgent red velvet brownies are swirled with a creamy cheesecake filling, creating the perfect balance of chocolatey, tangy, and creamy flavors.

Ingredients

1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted

1 cup granulated sugar

2 large eggs

1 tablespoon red food coloring

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 cup all-purpose flour

1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder

1/4 teaspoon salt

1/4 teaspoon baking powder

8 oz cream cheese, softened

1/4 cup granulated sugar

1 large egg

1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and line an 8x8-inch baking pan with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium bowl, mix the melted butter and sugar until smooth. Add in the eggs, red food coloring, and vanilla extract, and whisk until combined.
  3. In a separate bowl, combine the flour, cocoa powder, salt, and baking powder. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and stir until fully incorporated.
  4. Pour the brownie batter into the prepared pan and spread it evenly.
  5. In another bowl, beat together the cream cheese, sugar, egg, and vanilla extract for the cheesecake layer until smooth.
  6. Drop spoonfuls of the cheesecake mixture onto the brownie batter, and use a knife or skewer to swirl the cheesecake filling into the brownie batter.
  7. Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with just a few crumbs.
  8. Allow the brownies to cool in the pan before slicing into squares and serving.

Notes

  • Ensure the cream cheese is softened to room temperature for a smooth cheesecake mixture.
  • Do not overmix the brownie batter to avoid dense brownies.
  • Use gel-based red food coloring for more vibrant color if desired.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to a week in the fridge.
