Description

This Microwave Cinnamon Roll in a Mug is a quick and easy single-serving treat, perfect for satisfying sweet cravings in minutes. Made with simple pantry staples and no yeast, this fluffy, gooey cinnamon roll is ready in just 6 minutes—no oven required!

Ingredients

  • 4 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • ¼ tsp baking powder
  • Pinch of fine sea salt
  • 1½ tbsp water
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar or coconut sugar
  • ½ tsp ground cinnamon
  • 2 tbsp powdered sugar
  • ½ tsp plant-based milk or water
  • A tiny dab of oil for greasing the mug

Instructions

  • Prepare the Icing – In a small bowl, mix powdered sugar with plant-based milk or water until smooth and drippy. Set aside.
  • Grease the Mug – Lightly grease an 11–12 oz microwave-safe mug with oil.
  • Make the Dough – In another bowl, mix flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add water, stirring until a slightly tacky dough forms. Knead a few times.
  • Roll It Out – On a lightly floured surface, roll dough into a 4-inch wide strip, about ⅛ inch thick.
  • Add Filling – Sprinkle brown sugar and cinnamon evenly over the dough. Fold the edges inward, sealing the cinnamon inside.
  • Shape & Microwave – Roll the dough into a spiral and place it in the mug. Pour ½ teaspoon of water over the top to create steam. Microwave on full power for about 50 seconds (adjust if needed).
  • Serve – Turn the cinnamon roll onto a plate and drizzle with icing. Enjoy immediately!

Notes

  • Add Nuts – Sprinkle chopped pecans or walnuts for crunch.
  • Chocolate Twist – Add mini chocolate chips for extra sweetness.
  • Vanilla Icing – Mix a drop of vanilla extract into the icing.
  • Maple Glaze – Replace the icing with maple syrup.
  • Extra Spices – Enhance with nutmeg or cardamom for added warmth.
