Ingredients
1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
1 cup granulated sugar
2 large eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
1/2 cup all-purpose flour
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon baking powder
1 cup fresh strawberries, sliced
1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
1 tablespoon coconut oil (or butter) for the chocolate drizzle
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x9-inch baking pan, or line it with parchment paper.
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the melted butter and sugar until smooth.
- Add the eggs, one at a time, and whisk until fully incorporated. Stir in the vanilla extract.
- Sift in the cocoa powder, flour, salt, and baking powder. Mix until the batter is smooth and well combined.
- Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and spread it evenly.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with only a few moist crumbs (not wet batter). Let the brownies cool in the pan for 10 minutes.
- While the brownies are cooling, arrange the sliced strawberries on top of the brownies in a decorative pattern.
- For the chocolate drizzle, melt the chocolate chips and coconut oil in a microwave-safe bowl in 30-second intervals, stirring in between, until smooth and glossy.
- Drizzle the melted chocolate over the strawberries in a zig-zag pattern or however you like.
- Let the brownies cool completely before slicing into squares and serving.
Notes
- For a richer flavor, you can use dark chocolate chips for the drizzle.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 2-3 days.
- Make sure the brownies are completely cooled before applying the strawberries and chocolate drizzle.
